Nepal Afterschool Program

In partnership with Gentle Heart Foundation (https://ghfnepal.org/) we are setting out to provide the support needed to fund an afterschool program that will be a safe place for children. We will provide tutors, food, adult supervision, counseling, and encouragement to 220 vulnerable children. We are looking for monthly sponsors to support these children and as a result 220 children will be blessed. There is one school involved in Jutpani and another in Siddhi.

From the time after school and prior to these children's guardians returning home, this is an especially vulnerable time for these children when they are most exposed to the less desirable elements of society. The last child is sometimes picked-up by their guardian as late as 7PM. Child trafficking remains a problem in Nepal and this program will minimize this risk for 220 extremely vulnerable children.

The $21,584 needed will provide compensation for the tutors, caretakers, school supplies, food, and other ancillary costs associated with the program from January to December in 2019. The need breaks-down to $1,800 monthly. Gentle Heart Foundation recently lost their funding partner for this effort and the program is in jeopardy. Other such Afterschool Programs in other cities have already closed leaving 1000's of children more vulnerable to human traffickers and further behind in school.
