Over 3,000 Vulnerable Children Need Medical Intervention

The risk of water-borne disease in the wake of local flooding is critical; a cholera epidemic has already affected thousands of people, causing reported deaths. It is important that we act now to avoid the spread of water-borne diseases and the transmission of vector-borne diseases such as malaria. The flooding has already cause some entire villages to relocate due to destroyed roads, homes, crops and vegetables all over the affected areas. The situation will only get worse with the rains not expected to stop until late in the year, causing more people to need temporary housing and urgent humanitarian help. We have already experienced loss of life by one of our students in Adoor.

In response to these needs, Global Orphan Relief, in partnership with CHRIST MISSION TO THE WORLD, is urgently making an appeal for $6,000 for supplies of malaria, typhoid, cholera medicines, and mosquito nets supplies to the affected communities for an immediate intervention.

This purpose of this funding will be to provide Medical Relief for 3,160 vulnerable children, of which 1,452 are orphans, in Adoor Village, Beliek Village, and Luethwek Village where we currently feed these children with our partners Christ Mission to the World and Kids for the Kingdom. This will include other preventative measures such as mosquito nets.
